WELCOME FROM THE EXECUTIVE HEADTEACHER
Wright Robinson is an outstanding 11-16 secular college situated on the outskirts of central Manchester, in extensive grounds alongside Gorton reservoir and surrounding greenbelt.
The college has state of the art facilities set in an impressive campus which facilitates an exceptional learning environment.
As you enter the college you will find a calm and welcoming atmosphere. Visitors frequently comment on how impeccably well-mannered our students are.
Our ‘Team Ethos’ permeates all aspects of college life. Life here at Wright Robinson is so much more than what happens in the classroom and we are extremely proud to offer a wealth of opportunities to our students. A culture of mutual respect, positive outlook and a ‘can-do’ approach pervades our school. We have established a secure, stable and well-ordered environment and make no apologies for the high expectations of all pupils. Our Governors and Leaders are deeply committed to ensuring that every pupil can flourish, irrespective of their personal circumstances.
Our core purpose is to deliver consistently high-quality teaching and provide an education that enables our pupils to excel. The ambitious curriculum motivates and engages pupils to work extremely hard.
We have over half a century’s experience in educating young people which is illustrated through our results in public examinations, where our students consistently perform at rates significantly higher than the expected norms.
Students are taught by academic specialists with a passion for their subject, creating an environment where our students believe that anything is achievable. We place great emphasis on creating leaders, whilst recognising the need to work co-operatively with others.
Wright Robinson students develop into highly confident, articulate and responsible young adults who are ready to ‘shine’ in the world. They benefit from a broad and varied range of enrichment activities and opportunities to develop leadership skills. These range from a hugely popular Duke of Edinburgh programme to student council representation, performing arts activities, creative subjects and, of course, through sport. Throughout the Wright Robinson journey our students have access to an exciting range of visits and residential trips in both the UK and overseas.
Ultimately, we want our students to enjoy a stimulating education that enables them to achieve outcomes that promote social mobility.
From my experience of school leadership, I know that a successful school depends on a strong partnership between school and home and a shared approach is key to the individual success and happiness of every student.
Students are proud to be part of this exceptional school and believe it is a safe, happy and harmonious place to learn.
I hope the website provides you with the information you need and gives you a sense of the school that we are so proud of. However, please do contact us with any questions that are not covered in the information available.
