Wright Robinson is a great place for students to learn and for teachers to teach. Wright Robinson is an outstanding and oversubscribed school at the heart of the Flagship Trust. The Trust has plans to expand in Manchester in the near future and so offers an exciting and forward-looking place to work, with career opportunities for our staff.

At Wright Robinson we have high expectations for all. Student behaviour is excellent and relationships between staff and students are superb. We recognise that great teaching is the foundation of great learning and as such we offer opportunities for continued professional development for all our teachers throughout their career. Our non-teaching and support staff play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of an outstanding education and ensuring our students receive the best pastoral care. Our staff development policy extends to both teaching and non-teaching staff to ensure the highest standards throughout our college.

Our teachers and support staff are always striving to improve, and we offer opportunities and programmes of high-quality professional development for all our staff. All new staff take part in a coordinated Induction Programme to support the transition to Wright Robinson. All ECTs have a dedicated Induction Mentor and Senior Leader with whom they meet regularly to ensure that they are fully supported and on target to meet their individual goals.  As well as continued professional learning for all staff we encourage our staff to develop as leaders. We have a structured middle leadership programme and offer the opportunity for staff to take part in fully funded National Professional Qualifications and have a history of working with Ambition Teaching Leaders. We are immensely proud of the fact that many of our teachers and support staff go on to achieve promotion within the college. The opportunities for learning and development for both teaching and support staff mean that it is an exciting time to join our ambitious and expanding Trust.

Why work at Wright Robinson College- Video

What our staff say about working at Wright Robinson College

We are a strong and close group of teachers. We work to support each other, we share resources and have a great bank of lessons. There are plentiful opportunities at WRC due to people getting promotions internally and externally. I have progressed from a maths teacher to deputy head of the Faculty and then this year I was given the opportunity to become Head of Faculty. The work life balance is excellent and I can truly say that this is the best place I have worked.

G Wareham – Head of Maths

The best aspect of working at Wright Robinson is being part of a team. It’s something that once you have worked here a while you really understand just what it means to be part of this team. The quality of support that I first received when I started at Wright Robinson was fantastic. We had regular weekly meetings with SLT about our progression and with my mentor. Having the chance to observe other teachers has really helped me develop as a teacher.

J Lea – PE teacher

One of the brilliant things about the CPD at Wright Robinson is that there are a range of different sessions that you can go to. If you want to improve a particular aspect of your teaching such as differentiation or questioning, then you can make sure that you can go to the session that is going to benefit you and therefore really contribute to your professional development.

K Bane – Teacher of English & Head of the House System

Since being an LSA I have been given the opportunities and support from the senior leadership team who have provided me with extensive training which has allowed me to progress my career here at wright Robinson. The senior leadership team here make you feel like a valued and appreciated member of staff at all times. The Headteacher regularly recognises your efforts and will publicly praise you and students on a regular basis. Opportunities at WRC are endless.

H Thompson – Director of Year 8

My time at WRC has been overwhelmingly positive. I received incredible support throughout my placement from the department. It is clear why Wright Robinson is an outstanding school and I cannot stress enough how impressed I have been with the department.
