Wright Robinson College

House System

INTRODUCTION

The college operates a house system. There are six houses:

Parks (Orange), Darwin (Blue), Shakespeare (White), King (Purple), Pankhurst (Yellow) and Curie (Red).

Students collect house points for working hard in class and completing homework.

House points are also awarded for other activities that students participate in and for the inter-house competitions across different subjects held throughout the year. The House point competition culminates at the end of the academic year in July with the college sports day.

House points are published each week and each term students achieving the highest number of house points are awarded a certificate with the chance of winning additional prizes.

Rewards and Events

The winner of the house system 2023-2024 was King house! In September, King house celebrated with pizza!

As well as good behaviour, there are a variety of competitions that take place over the course of the year that allow students to show off their talents and earn house points. Some of the competitions that take place include: The X Factor, Wright Robinson Bake Off, subject competitions and sports competitions.

Penny Mile

Today, our House Captains collected pennies for our annual ‘Penny Mile’ competition. Representing their Houses, students competed by collecting and lining their donated pennies up along the athletics track to see which house got the furthest. Well done to the whole college for getting involved and to our winners, Curie House. All the proceeds will go to each House’s chosen charity.
