Change to Foundation Status
Statutory notice and full proposal for change to Foundation Status
Notice is given in accordance with section 19(3) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that the Governing Body of Wright Robinson College intends to make a prescribed alteration to Wright Robinson College (currently a Community School), off Falmer Close, Abbey Hey Lane, Gorton, Manchester M18 8RL. The proposed alteration is to change the school Category from Community to Foundation from 1st March 2010 (the implementation date).
The fundamental rationale for this change is to improve the quality of education we are able to provide for our pupils and to raise standards. These additional freedoms in combination with the College’s commitment to collaborative working arrangements with other educational partners and the community, will improve our ability to meet the five outcomes of Every Child Matters, enhance our commitment to promoting community cohesion and embrace the extended schools agenda.

Within four weeks of the date of publication of this proposal (14 December 2009), any person may object to or make comments or representations on the proposal by writing to Miss V. Kelly, Clerk to Governors, Wright Robinson College, off Falmer Close, Abbey Hey Lane, Gorton, M18 8RL. The period for objections, comments and representations begins on 16 November 2009 and will end on the 14th December 2009.
