Dame Kelly Holmes goes back to the classroom


British Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes held a national healthy lifestyle seminar at Wright Robinson College.

Dame Kelly ran a two day seminar on healthy lifestyles, that involved practical workshops and talks, to over 100 young people and their parents/ carers from across the country. The event took place at Manchester’s Wright Robinson College on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 October.

The Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust aims to inspire young people to fulfil their potential in sport through innovative projects and programmes delivered by a team of elite sports performers.

Dame Kelly Holmes, said:

“We’re hoping to really reach out and make young people think about their health and how sport and healthy eating can affect their performance in sport, in school, improve wellbeing and even lift their mood. I am delighted that the school is working with my charity, the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust.”

Jon Marshall, head of community at Wright Robinson College, said:

“As a specialist sports college it’s fantastic to welcome a world class athlete like Dame Kelly to our College, and we wholly support her positive, healthy message to young people and their families.

“Last week we were lucky enough to welcome the English and Australian International Netball teams and James Goddard, the Olympic swimmer. This is a really exciting time to be at Wright Robinson.”
