Wright Robinson nets international sports stars
Wright Robinson College has netted the England and Australian international netball teams to provide advice to future sports stars.
The England and Australia teams, ranked three and one in the world respectively, have been using the facilities to train at the specialist sports college, before competing in the Co-operative World Netball Series at the MEN Arena.
Students from all five year groups were offered expert advice and several stars provided signed netballs for the College and held a question and answer session.
Jon Marshall, head of community at Wright Robinson College, said:
“As a specialist sports college it’s fantastic to welcome world class athletes to our College and it’s great students can benefit from their experience.
“Last week we were lucky enough to welcome James Goddard, the Olympic swimmer, and later this year we are set to have visits from Dame Kelly Holmes. It really is an exciting time to be at Wright Robinson.”
Sue Hawkins, the England netball coach, said:
“Wright Robinson’s facilities are great and perfect for training sessions. The College’s sports stars were really enthusiastic and keen to soak up as many training tips as possible.”
