Q: Does my child’s current primary school have to be in a certain radius of Wright Robinson?

A: No. Children from primary schools across Manchester and Tameside are welcome to apply to join Wright Robinson.

Q: Wright Robinson is a specialist sports college. Does my child have to be good at sport to enrol?

A: No. Although our sports facilities are excellent and children are encouraged to participate in sport, no student will be required to participate in sporting activities beyond the standard Physical Education curriculum. There are many other activities students can pursue both in-school and extra-curricular.  

Q: Does Wright Robinson have large class sizes?

A: No. Wright Robinson continually invests in staff and facilities to ensure class sizes are not too large. The emphasis on focusing on students as individuals is central to our educational success.

Q: Does Wright Robinson offer out of hours facilities?

A: Yes. The college has an active out of school learning programme dedicated to enriching the cultural life of all its pupils. Activities are both academically linked and also community focused.

Q: Is there a mentoring system in place at the college?

A: Yes. We have a system of Pupils Helping Pupils in which older students play an active part in mentoring younger colleagues and lead by example. The college has a system of student prefects and a Head Boy and Head Girl elected each year.

Q: Can my child have school dinners?

A: Yes. The college offers a wide range of food with an emphasis on healthy options.
