Initial visits to Primary Schools

The first visits to primary schools are made during the Autumn term when Ms Carr, Transition Learning Mentor, goes to meet year 6 teachers and future Wright Robinson Pupils. Her first visit is as an introduction and the children have a question and answer session about going to High School. Between this first visit and the spring term visits both the primary and secondary school are in regular contact. When the children have applied to their various high schools, Ms Carr then goes back in to visit the children who have been allocated a place for Wright Robinson Specialist College and works with them, answering any queries and allaying any fears they may have. She becomes a familiar face to both staff and pupils and the children identify with her.
