GCSE PE has both practical and thoery aspects.

For the practical assessment, students should select 4 sports to perform in. During practical lessons students will work on:

The practical aspect of the course is assessed throughout by your PE teacher, and checked by an external moderator towards the end of the course.

During theory lessons students will be taught a variety of units, including:

  • anatomy and physiology
  • diet, health and hygiene
  • sports injuries
  • health, fitness, exercise and performance

The theoretical aspect of the course will be assessed by a single exam, which is taken at the end of the course.
